Grand Seiko used 2025 to underline what makes it different from just about every other luxury watch brand: relentless technical progress wrapped in quietly wild dial work.
The standout is the SLGB003, a next-gen Hi-Beat that pairs a razor-sharp Evolution 9 case with a deeply textured blue dial and 80-hour 36,000 vph movement — a combo strong enough to earn a slot on our list of the 100 most important product releases of the year.
Around it, Grand Seiko filled out the calendar with seasonal “Snowdrop” and “Skyflake” GMTs, new Tentagraph chronographs and richly patterned Birch and Sakura pieces that turn Japanese landscapes into wrist-sized sculpture.
Here’s a recap of the releases that grabbed our attention this year, which together show just how far the brand can push finishing, mechanics and storytelling without ever raising its voice.
